Set on the shores of Lough Derg, Lakeside Holiday Homes are just a short walk from the pretty towns of Killaloe and Ballina. With a vast array of land and water activities, historic sites and a bustling nightlife, Killaloe and Ballina has long been a much-loved holiday destination and a wonderful base for as self-catering holiday in Ireland

Property layout – Ground floor:
- Bedroom 1: twin sleeping 2
- Bedroom 2: double ensuite with shower and walk-in wardrobe sleeping 2

Ample off street car parking and Wi-Fi is available at Lakeside Holiday Homes.

This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.
2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.
3. Towels:
Towel sets are available upon request at a small charge. Please contact our Call Centre or the Property Manager to arrange (you will find the Property Manager's contact details at the Arrival Info document sent to you in the final payment confirmation).

Two good parks for kids play, one within walking distance, other a 4/5 min drive.

The window frame/ledge in the downstairs, off-suite shower needs to be protected somehow, so the wood doesn't rot, nor further mold grows. The front bedroom could also be improved with thicker or blackout curtains. I think it would be very helpful tosee more

I think it would be very helpful to create a manual with photos for how to add funds to the electricity account an explanation of every important switch, such as the circular hot water switch upstairs where you set the hours when the shower water downstairs will be hot (I would have never guessed what this was or how to operate it if not for a Trident long-term resident randomly showing me) how to operate laundry machine and dishwasher etc. An airbnb across the river offered just such a manual by the front door for their house and it was incredibly helpful and saved us from (1) contacting the property manager (2) listening to the alarm blare an hour as we tried to figure out how to add funds to the electricity account and (3) from taking an unnecessary freezing cold shower.

Would like the garden area to be closed off as we we had no privacy in the back and were beside the bins. Also kids felt they could come and kick a ball anytime day or night at our wall as it was so open. Price a bit high for what you get.

Our house (no. 21) seemed to lack some of the basic equipment that was in the other houses e.g. sweeping brush, dish drainer, small sharp knife/knives, kitchen scissors, adequate number of drinking glasses (especially wine glasses) and teaspoons etc.
Never thought to bring tea towels -would be good if that could be mentioned in the advance information. Also, oven gloves/pot holders - not something I would ever think to bring - should really be mentioned in advance. Could have done with separate (kitchen) bin for recycling - would make it easier to separate rubbish and would encourage people to recycle more too. A couple of lights weren't working (probably needed new bulbs.) The markings on the dishwasher and cooker were very worn so they are very hard to read. Same with the markings on the shower in the downstairs bathroom - impossible to see what was cold, hot etc. The curtains and chair covers in the house seemed to be badly stained. Didn't follow up on these things at the time as I only discovered them as the week went on. Also, we were able to borrow things from family members in other houses. Finally, didn't realise until we were leaving that we had to empty bins ourselves - would have thought that would be done by cleaning staff. Apologies for n0t sending you back details about things that were missing etc. before next group was in, but was too tired when I got home. Despite the above, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. |

Location really good. The size of theses houses are very good and nice quite area. Accommodation itself good and comfortable. Just requires a bit of anfor example chairs in dinning area material coming off, chairs in some of the bedrooms stained . Outdoor area could do with a power wash. Overall would recommend. .

But after few changes we managed to maintain it below 10 euros per day, in the middle of winter, which was fine and the house was always warm.

There is also an issue with air renewal as there is a lot of mould on the walls inside the property on the upper corners and a lot of condensation on the inside of the windows An excellent property Great value |

Great place to stay, close to killaloe and lots of space for a family. Place was very clean and even little starter kit to get you going i.e milk coffee loo roll. Love it all only down side is the walls are little thin. So geandvfor ya for the week we were there apart from one might( hear next door coming in from a night out but equally I’m sure they heard our 1 nearly 2 year old at 6 in the morning

1. Heating and Electricity: This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager before arrival how this is calculated or before making the booking. 2. Security Deposit: A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid before check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property. 3. Towels: Towel sets are available upon request at a small charge.
