Clogheen has a selection of traditional pubs, restaurants and shops. The village also has an excellent bus service linking the village to Clonmel, Mitchelstown and Fermoy in County Cork. Plus, there are also a number of buses that run direct to and from Dublin city centre.
Just 5 km away lies The Vee, located in Ireland’s Ancient East which is a very scenic driving route. Travel from Waterford to Tramore via the Vee Road, famous for its views but the lesser-known Vee Road could be considered one of Ireland’s best kept driving secrets.

Visit Cahir Castle, one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved castles which stands proudly on a rocky island on the River Suir which served as the stronghold of the powerful Butler Family. Another major attraction is the Swiss Cottage, an early 19th-century cottage orné located at Kilcommon near the town of Cahir. The Galtee Mountains lie to the north and the Knockmealdowns are in close proximity to the south which makes Clogheen an ideal base for a walking holiday in Tipperary. There are also several heritage walks in the area, the nearby Galtee Mountains form the largest inland range in Ireland and are home to Glengarra Wood which is a popular walking area.
