Self Catering Holiday Homes in Letterfrack, Co. Galway

Letterfrack is a small little village with a big heart, and is the base for the Connemara National Park, on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Here you have a choice of magnificent beaches including Gurteen Beach and Dog's Bay, Roundstone and The Coral Strand, Ballyconneely. The little village has a picnic area and lots of family days are organised during the summer here. There are 3 pubs in the village, two of which serve food and there is a little village café and craft shops. The National Centre for Excellence in Furniture Design and Technology, is based in the village and hosts an annual exhibition of the magnificent woodwork that is carried out by the students. Impromptu live traditional Irish music sessions are at regular in the pubs, and there are two festivals in Summer and late Autumn for musicians, music lovers and hill walkers. There is plenty to do from Letterfrack including sea or pier fishing, dolphin watching and boat trips, hiking and mountain climbing with Diamond Hill right on the doorstep and on the woodland trails through the Park. For a wonderful day out visit Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden, one of Ireland’s best loved and most iconic tourist attractions and home to the Benedictine nuns since 1920. Or discover Clifden Castle, in the Gothic Revival style which was built c. 1818 for John D'Arcy, the local landowner. A beautiful ruined manor house west of the town in the Connemara region.
