Dunmore East has two large sandy coves right in the heart of the village, Counsellors Strand and Lawlors which are both ideal for swimming and are easy to access. There are numerous of coves and beaches along this particular stretch of coastline (historically used be smugglers) many of which are linked by scenic walkways and paths, and with a wide variety of wild birds including a large colony of kittiwakes that nest in the red sandstone cliffs Down at the harbour you can buy fresh fish from the trawlers to take home to cook in your holiday home! The harbour is home to Waterford Harbour Sailing Club which offers junior sailing courses throughout the summer (ages 10 – 18yrs)

Dunmore East Golf Club is an 18 hole, 72 par course situated on one of the cliffs, overlooking the village which enjoys fantastic views of the bay and Hook Peninsula.
